Back in the saddle again

The psychiatric hospital saddle that is. Alex was ramping up with his aggression towards his teachers and was put back where he was five or six weeks ago. Hopefully this time, they will not discontinue meds just because his liver levels become slightly elevated. Hopefully.

Ch-ch-changes

I'm going to be blogging from a different blog starting in one week. There will be a slight name change in order to keep my favorite Sumyite from being able to click on and read about himself.
All I'm doing is flipping the title around : With Love from Sumy. If I ever get tech-savvy enough or better yet, if you know how to show me....I'll move the old posts over. Otherwise, it's going to be all new.

Sorry no pics this time.

Sail away....

Nim's Island, I highly recommend it. Hannah was shushing me for MY belly laughs! Anything that can make me laugh these days has got to be good. Full of INNOCENT action. (Hey, even in The Bee Movie, they showed how to make a flame thrower with an aerosol can and a lighter. Same thing in Zathura. Movies aimed at kids but you give them the blueprints for making something they can burn themselves up with...with no director standing by...no EMS or stunt team...probably home alone after school. DUH!)

If you are anywhere near my age, 49, this may remind you of The Swiss Family Robinson movie of the 60's. Jodie Foster is great as an agoraphobic. Abigail Breslin is simply awesome in any movie she's in.

So, if you need a get away from life, go see it. I recommend a nice mix of Hot Tamales and M&M's with your buttered popcorn and coke. No, the producers have not paid me to write this review. But if they wanna send a little $$$ my way, I'll let 'em.

Geting on the level

Trying a mood stabilizer. Blood levels show that it is not yet at therapeutic levels yet so that is a relief, not just that it won't work for him but that it isn't enough yet. WE keep on truckin'.

Go figure....

Today, we tried to have Alex's lab work done to check his liver profile levels and medication blood level. Poor kid couldn't have anything to eat or drink. We waited until 7:50 and found out that his doc had not included a dx code so he couldn't have it done until they had that. Came back at 8:30, still no word from the doc. Took him to school and he grabbed me as in a bear hug but refused to let go! The paraprofessional and the man from the special ed coop moved to remove him from me after my request. He bit me! On the top of my chest. With tears in his eyes, he bit me. While whispering,"But, I love you Mom," he bit me. While chanting my,"I am not for hurting." "I choose to not let you bite me, and they were peeling him off of me, he stomped my toes. I turned away with tears in my eyes.

At pick-up, they say he's still in the room and cannot walk out (this means I'm in for a drama-filled, "get the kid out of the school" afternoon.) Just when I parked the car, out he walks. Best day in school in a long time! Hmmm, guess I better start wearing a chest protector from now on.

On the "lighter" side...

Enough of the doom and gloom. I'm takin' the day off of feeling sorry for myself.

Yesterday, the Curves International Hot Air Balloon team came whizzing over our property. The chase was on. Never let it be said that two partners in investigation (you thought I was going to say crime...didn't you) let a phenomenon float on by without checking it out.

Look at the middle of the picture. You will see a telephone pole and a purple blob next to it. That is the top of the balloon which accidentally landed in a pasture on a goat ranch. We had tracked it for just a few miles when we fell in behind the balloon chase vehicle. Now, was that balloon the sign from God I asked for about my future weight loss?

I don't get it...

Alex was released from the hospital without any meds because his liver function levels were up. Because the goal had been to stabilize him on is meds and they couldn't give him the meds due to his liver tests, they sent him home. Oh boy, Supermom has to come to the rescue! Able to maintain the boy without several tall, strapping young men to restrain him! Able to ignore all the cheap shots he makes to get attention! Woohoo, now I'M looking for meds for me! Girls, there ain't enough Calgon to take THIS situation away but there just might be enough Bud..teehee.
